Richard J Beason, CPA has been awarded the CITP credential from the American Institute of CPAs. 

 

A Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) is a Certified Public Accountant recognized for their technology expertise and unique ability to bridge the gap between business and technology. Unlike other certifications that recognize only a narrow scope of skills, the CITP credential recognizes technical expertise across a wide range of business-technology practice areas.  The CITP credential encourages and recognizes excellence in the delivery of technology-related services by CPA professionals, and provides tools, training, and support to help CPAs expand their IT-related services and provide greater benefit to the business and academic communities they serve. 

 

Rick is a 1975 graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Accounting.  He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs, has served on the Board for the VSCPA, and has been awarded “Super CPA” status in five of the last six years by the Virginia Business Magazine.  He writes and instructs an annual Technology Seminar and an Ethics Seminar for Tax Preparers for the Virginia Tech Income Tax School and instructs tax and other seminars for the VSCPA and the Virginia Tech Income Tax School.  He is beginning his 31st year of practice in the Roanoke Valley and 33 year in public accounting practice.
